In the years from 1962 – 1965 when the geological survey was performed, the quarry was not open, and in fact, the surveyors were not attracted to this particular site as it was located almost at the foot of the mountain where the stone in question was discovered. The presence of the “Breccia Paradiso” stone appeared to be diffuse. Mr Ferrara opened a quarry face over 100 metres wide and 60 metres high, samples taken from both sides of the cut indicate that “Breccia Paradiso” forms a large part of the mountain. Other samples, taken at depths of up to 150 under the quarry floor, have confirmed there are rock formations identical or similar to that in cultivation, and others have been made at various points to the side of the road towards Monticelli with positive results. It was also noted that the stone emerges for tens of meters above the quarry floor. The material available amounts to thousands and thousands of cubic meters.
