HISTORY
The District was established initially as an industrial district of the Monti Ausoni Marble area and then integrated with the stone area of Tiburtina and simultaneously renamed Ausoni Industrial District – Tiburtina marble and stone.
It specializes in the extraction, cutting and processing of stone and marble, products that have a strong export orientation, that are of high quality and are internationally recognized.
Permitted activities in the district are those of mining and processing the stone and quarry materials, the commercialization of these materials and their derivatives, in addition to the manufacture and marketing of machinery for the extraction and subsequent processing.
The district, given the specificity of production, is obviously linked to the location of the raw material, and product quality and also plays a prominent role within the province with the production and exports of the sector.
